George T. Barnes

Managing Director

George is a co-founder of Vanguard Property Group, where he is active in the management, investment, and development activities of the firm. His prior experiences include forming and raising capital for a real estate private equity fund, and a previous career in investment banking. George is also involved with several outside organizations. He serves on the Vestry of Holy Trinity Church and its real estate and finance committees. He serves on the Board of Directors for Chapel Hill Foundation Real Estate Holdings Inc., Keys Children’s Foundation, and other organizations. George is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He and his wife Anne have two daughters. Outside of work, George enjoys being with his family, golf, water activities, and UNC.

George C. Venters, Jr.

Managing Director

George co-founded Vanguard Property Group in 2003 and has since been actively engaged in the firm’s management, investment and development activities. Prior to this, he was a partner in other real estate development companies which concentrated on residential and office development. George is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in Raleigh with his wife, Meg, and a son and a daughter. Outside of work, George is active with Boy Scouts and is an organizational member of a non-profit that sponsors and operates a local scout troop. He enjoys hunting, fishing and traveling with his family.

Drew Logan

Managing Director

Drew joined Vanguard Property Group full time in March of 2020 and has been developing primarily retail assets since 2015. Prior to joining the firm, Drew was a Partner at The Shopping Center Group and SVP at CBRE, representing many national QSR groups and big box retailers helping them rollout stores in the Carolinas. His client roster included Panera Bread, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Chase Bank, Harbor Freight Tools, and Gap/Old Navy among many others. His focus is putting together both single and multi-tenant outparcel projects for the company. Drew was born and raised in Raleigh, NC, majored in Business Management and Political Science at NC State University, and graduated in 2004. He resides in Morehead City with his wife Molly and their two children.

Amy Biggers

Chief Financial Officer

Amy Biggers brings over 25 years of invaluable experience in the real estate industry to her role as CFO at Vanguard Property Group. Before joining the team in September 2022, Amy spent two decades at Cherokee Investment Partners, where she served in various capacities culminating in her role as Accounting Manager, overseeing all accounting matters for several of the firm’s private equity funds. Prior to her tenure at Cherokee Investment Partners, Amy served as a Senior Accountant at AIMCO, a real estate investment trust based in Greenville, SC. Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from North Carolina State University. She resides in Raleigh with her husband, Shan and their two daughters.

Tiffani Bylow

Development Manager

Tiffani Bylow is the Business Manager for Vanguard Property Group. With over 25 years of experience, Tiffani brings a wealth of expertise in permitting, land acquisitions and project accounting. Tiffani spent 15 years in the Environmental Mitigation industry where she demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable development practices and ensured projects met all regulatory requirements. Outside of her professional endeavors, Tiffani is an avid reader with a passion for expanding her knowledge and staying current on industry trends, while also enjoying the beach and live music. Tiffani lives in Raleigh with her husband Tim.

James Peden III

Construction Manager

James Peden III joined Vanguard Property Group in March 2012 as a Project Manager. James assists with coordinating and overseeing the firm’s construction activities, bringing over 20 years of experience successfully managing more than 1.6 million square feet of commercial construction — from the permitting phase to certificate of occupancy. James served as President of the General Contractors Association of Raleigh in 2004. James resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife and four children.

Jerry Arnold

Facilities Manager

Jerry joined Vanguard Property Group in April 2019. As facility manager he oversees the day- to- day operations of our properties and facilities.  Jerry is a level II certified commercial property inspector.
Previously, Jerry worked in public safety for the City of Raleigh and was the Code Enforcement Supervisor responsible for life safety and building inspections throughout the city.
Jerry loves everything outdoors and approaches each day as a learning opportunity. He resides in Raleigh with his wife and three children.
